Crystals are another of the brilliant alternative healing modalities that many people around the world use to aid in clearing negative energy. Often overlooked by others. Those that work in the healing arts often combine the energy of the stones with other forms of healing energy to assist their clients in overall mind-body balance.

Today, I’d like to share about Rose Quartz which like the Amethyst it is a stone that many people equate with LOVE. In fact, the rose quartz is known as the “stone of love” ~ and with its pink color, it is a stone that many people are drawn to naturally and energetically.

The Rose Quartz resonates with the heart chakra, and stimulates the crown chakra, third eye and throat chakra, bringing them into harmony and unity with the heart. Even the lower chakras respond favorably to the abundance of love energy which flows from the heart under the influence of Rose Quartz. It has been known to have calming effects on the mind, body, and spirit, which assists in easing anxiety, stress, and fear, as well as, emotional healing.

When used during meditation the stone provides an envelope of love energy around us and our space, and activates the heart chakra for the emanation of one’s innate love. Healing the heart of its wounds and reawakening its trust is another gift of Rose Quartz. Its love vibrations can penetrate down to the cellular level, re-programming the cells for joy and longevity rather than despair and death. This reprogramming capacity is the source of the healing potential of the Rose Quartz.[1] “Don’t let the soft pink color and soothing energy of this stone fool you into discounting its power. Rose Quartz is one of the most important stones of our time. It stimulates and opens the heart chakra, clears the emotional body, and assists in the integration and resolution of old emotional programs.”[2]

When I was at a retreat in Sedona Arizona there was a labyrinth with a large, huggable large Rose Quartz at the center. My heart felt so open and I remember I wept and laughed inside the circle. That was in 2008 and I can still conjure the feeling of the vibration of the moment when I placed my hands on that stone. I remember feeling like earths daughter, grand-daughter, great granddaughter. I felt a deep connection to the universe and I have a feeling it will be with me for many years to come especially because it was 11 years ago and it seems like last weekend.

The Rose Quartz is another stone that I have in each room of my house, as well as, in my wallet and car. Another stone that I often give as gifts. Since the Rose Quartz speaks to the heart chakra specifically, I use it in my reiki sessions. I have made a few bracelets using Rose Quartz and I notice that people tend to comment on them more than the other jewelry I might be wearing which proves that people are drawn to the calming energy of the stone. So, if you are looking for an all-around great healing crystal to have around, Rose Quartz is definitely in my top 5.

Many Blessings,
