Can Hypnosis Help You?
Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness characterized by deep relaxation, a heightened state of suggestibility, increased awareness and focused attention. In this state, the subconscious mind is open to receive positive suggestions in order to make the desired changes.
Despite many misconceptions, hypnosis is NOT a form of mind control imposed on someone. Hypnosis is an amazing tool that can help you overcome the fear of public speaking and stage fright, improve memory and concentration, improve sports performance, reduce stress and anxiety, improve study skills and remove test anxiety, remove writer’s block, improve motivation, and assist in pain management. In fact, in 1985, the American Cancer Society and Dr. David Spiegel, M.D., printed a professional education publication, entitled, "The Use of Hypnosis in Controlling Cancer Pain". Within this publication Dr. Spiegel states, "Persons in the hypnotic state are not controlled by the hypnotist. They are open to having their experience structured by the hypnotist". This is achieved by cognitively discussing what the client hopes to achieve during their session. In the conclusion of this publication, Dr. Spiegel says, “It is ironic that a technique long associated with fantasies of losing control should be so helpful in enhancing it. The intense concentration, interpersonal sensitivity, and mind-body control that characterize hypnosis make it an empirically grounded, practical tool for use with cancer patients”.
If you are looking to make some positive changes in your life, hypnosis is an effective tool in helping you reach your goals. We will go on the journey together in order to help you shift, heal and transform your life.
Many Bright Blessings!
