part 2 of Feed Your Chakras - from "Healing at the Vortex"
The Heart Chakra - This Chakra represents forgiveness, compassion, and unconditional love. When the Heart Chakra is balanced a person is compassionate, nurturing, and is capable of unconditional love. We have a great sense of balance and love, which allows us to confidently move forward in our life.
Feeding Your Heart Chakra ~ Healing Emotional Hurts
Add more green leafy vegetables such as spinach, kale, and dandelion greens, along with air vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, celery, and squash along with spices such as basil, cilantro and parsely will help keep the Heart Chakra balanced. In addition to the foods and spices adding green tea into your diet will also be helpful.
The Throat Chakra - Embodies personal expression - communication. As you learn to have and own self-expression, you begin to feel more balanced in your own communication. When the Throat Chakra is in balance, we are more satisfied with our lives, our communication is open and honest and we feel confident to speak our truth.
Feeding Your Throat Chakra ~ Speaking One's Truth
I have found that adding more liquids such as water and herbal teas are excellent for the Throat Chakra. Foods that are helpful are tart or tangy fruits like lemons, oranges, limes, kiwi, apples and plums. There are only a couple of spices and they are salt and lemon grass. Adding these liquids, spices and foods, will assist you in keeping your Throat Chakra balanced.
The Third-Eye Chakra – This Chakra represents emotional intelligence, intuition, and psychic ability. Working with the Third Eye Chakra is to honor ones own inner wisdom. When the energy center is balanced we will be more intuitive, charismatic, and in touch with our own inner wisdom. A balanced Third Eye Chakra allows us to feel a calm sense of well-being and feel very much in control in our lives.
Feeding Your Third-Eye Chakra ~ Awakening Third Eye Senses
Foods for the Third-Eye Chakra are dark bluish colored fruits such as blueberries, red grapes, and blackberries. Also, adding red wines, grape juice and spices such as lavender and poppy seed will help to keep the Third-Eye Chakra balanced.
The Crown Chakra - a spiritual place of connection to the energy of the universe. This is the place of selflessness. A balanced Crown Chakra will leave a person feeling inspired, charismatic, and a knowing that things are right with them in their world. A state of blissfulness.
Feeding Your Crown Chakra ~ Opening and Clearing the
Spiritual Communication Center
The Crown Chakra is associated with a spiritual connection and spirit is beyond food and drink. To assist the balancing of your Crown Chakra I recommended that you do a proper cleanse of your system. Remove foods with dyes, chemicals, no processed foods and eat fruits and vegetables raw, and cut down or out meats, if possible. Drink plenty of water and caffeine free herbal teas. Air is associated with the Crown Chakra and burning incense, diffusing essential oils, and certain herbs such as sage, frankincense or myrrh are helpful in keeping this Chakra balanced. The herbs and essntial oils also have a purifying effect on the Crown Chakra. Take in lots of oxygen, by deep breathing; in through the nose slowly and then out through the mouth slowly.
The Chakra System is complicated and there is so much more associated with each Chakra. Although, this post is only touching the tip of the iceberg, I hope that you will find it useful in healing your own mind, body and spirit. I have applied the foods, herbs and spices in my own diet and have certainly felt the positive effects on my mind, body and spirit.
