Choose Your Best Life!

In order to live your best life, it is so important to leave the past behind and stay in the moment. We have all had upsets, betrayals, and disappointments; however, we must choose not to live there, in the past. We must choose to live in the moment and focus on the blessings in our life. The Law of Attraction states, “that which we place our thoughts and attention, is that which we will receive in return.” “Like attracts like.”

So, why is there still so many people that choose to relive their past over and over? Why do they continue to talk about negative things that have happened? Why do they base their current happiness on the past?

Often people tend to blame the past for why their current situation is not going well. They talk about the past and those in the past, as if it were just yesterday, when in fact, it could be 5, 10, 15, or even, 20 years ago. There is a lot of energy placed on the disappointment of unmet expectations and betrayal. As time goes by, and with accurate precision, they then place these negative experiences onto a loop, which joins other negative experiences, and plays time and time again, keeping them tethered to the past. I have also noticed that many people are just in the habit of complaining about the past or complaining in general. They have done it for so long, they have made it a way of life. So, how do you break this habit? How can you learn to live in the moment?

Twenty-one times makes a habit, so I challenge you today, to become aware of your thoughts and your words. If you are caught in the habitual cycle of negativity, each time you notice yourself complaining or being negative, stop! The minute you notice the negativity coming out of your mouth, say, I am willing to live in the moment and appreciate the blessings in my life, I love and accept my past lessons, and I move forward with love and grace. The more that you do this, the easier it will be, until you have left all of the negativity behind and find yourself living in a state of positive thoughts, positive actions, and sharing your positive outlook and inspire others to do the same.

We must give ourselves permission to let it go. We have to be willing to get rid of that which keeps us dangling in the past and that which gives us a “bad” feeling, in the moment; we must be willing to accept what has been and allow ourselves permission to move forward. Look, if something that you did, in the past, has changed your life in a way that you are not happy with, then be willing to accept what has taken place, make your amends, make sure that you do not repeat the behavior again, and then move forward. I can assure you that it is just that easy! If you choose happiness and gratitude into your day-to-day life, then you will begin to see and feel that shift and you will no longer be fixated on the negatives of the past. If you have been hurt, wronged, or betrayed, by another, in the past, think of this; “We are all doing the best we can with the tools we have to work with”. You may think, that they should have known better or done better, but, if they could have, they would have. Be willing to forgive others, forgive yourself, and move on.

Look, what’s done is done, what’s been said, has been said, and we know there is no going back. There is no way that we can go back in time and choose differently. No amount of desire, worry, or blame, is going to change what has been. For me, I look at the situation, call on my angels and guides, and ask, “What is the lesson here?” I think of the Law of Attraction, and I affirm that I am willing to live in the moment, embrace the lessons and blessings of the moment, and move on.

I know that it is ultimately, your decision, how you choose to either live in the past or live in the moment. I just feel that living in the past reaps no rewards. In fact, it robs us of a happy, present moment, and if it isn’t adding to the quality of your life, then it is time to abandon that ship and jump onto that beautiful catamaran, gently gliding through the waters of the present moment. Live your life to the fullest, enjoy each day, each precious moment, and give yourself permission to have your best life ever!
