Messages From A Three Year Old
Past Life Confirmation?
by Saundra Berry, C.Ht.
In the nineties, I became a single mom, my son was almost three. We lived in southern California at the time and I worked fulltime so my son was in daycare and then preschool. We had a bit of a commute and so we spent a lot of time in the car. When I would pick him up from school, we would talk about our day for a few minutes and then I would ask, “Silence or music?” Many days, he would say, “silence.” I always loved that he was willing to tell me what he needed. So, driving along in North Hollywood, we passed a golf shop with a huge storefront window. The window display was full of golf gear from the 1940’s. As we sat at the red light, my son looked over at the storefront and said, “Hey, I used to wear that when I played golf.” For a moment, I thought, “really, did he just say that?” Then I had a moment of clarity and said, “Really, when was that?” He replied, “A long time ago.” We continued through the light and all the while my head was reeling. Was I was in the presence of a past life memory? I was elated to think that I was getting an amazing confirmation from my three year old! I mean, I have always been of the belief that we visit this earth time and time again, but to have that confirmation really solidified it for me.
Later that year, we were sitting in his room reading a book and he said, “Mommy, I used to push you and your dolly around in a cart.” I said, “Really?” He said, “Yes, you were a little girl.” I asked, “Were you my daddy?” He replied, “No, we were just friends.”
I believe that I was given a wonderful gift from my son and whether you believe in reincarnation or not, the fact that my three year old son was accessing some sort of information from the past, answers many of the questions that I have had about reincarnation and past lives. When sharing the stories with a friend, she shared that children have past life memories that are easily accessible to them until around the age of five. I consider myself to be one of the lucky ones that had the first hand experience of witnessing this phenomenon.
So, the next time your child tells you a story about something that they “did” or “knew” from another time, give yourself permission not to jump to the idea that your child is making things up and ask some questions of their experience from that time and maybe you will have the opportunity to witness your own miracle, your own confirmation.
